But I think calling &quot;squaring up&quot; a myth, a lie, or bad form is crazy.  Along with the statement that shooting off the line of your shoulder being &quot;very inaccurate&quot;. I understand it&#039;s not absolutely necessary but you&#039;re going by the assumption that the rim is always going to be between your eyes.  Most people, I find, aim with a dominant eye which is usually the same side as their dominant hand, and dominant side of the body.  Squared up or not you can train to align yourself with the rim.  All it is really is shifting your target spot of the rim.  

I&#039;m not sure how you&#039;re defining what good shooting or shooting form is, but I&#039;m willing to bet that if you did a study on squaring up and opening up there wouldn&#039;t be enough supporting data to back up your teaching point.</description>
